The Chinese Communist Food Administration has inaugurated strict control of foodstuffs. In large cities each resident will be issued an individual food ration card. 2. This food rationing has already been, put into effect in Peiping. Residents are legally allowed to buy only one catty of mixed grain per adult per day and half a catty per child.
