An agreement is reported to have been reached between Giuseppe Sara. gat and Giusepre Romita whereby they will present a common list of party candidates at the next Partito Socialista ... Sczione Italiana dell' Internazion-el..e Socialists (PS -(SITS); Socialist Party - Tt0 4 env, Ane- tion of the Socialist International) party congress. Candidate for the Harty secretariat will be Paolo Eoasi, university professor at Genoa and a member of the party directorate who is, moreover, highly regarded in North Italian industrial circles. 2.. Saragat and P?ovAta will let the right and left currents of the party present their own lists, hoping meanwhile that Do Gaspers will clarify his ideas on the possibility of PS (SIIS) participation in the govern- ment, and on a shift of cabinet posts? With an eye to such clarifica- tions, Eomita has already had Alberto Simonini raise the matter With the Prime t ,inister. 3. Do Gasperi gave Simonini no assurances of any kind.
