In addition to the new fighter regiment reported at Koethen, a new fighter regiment has been observed at Finow. The nine fighter regiments rihich were not of ~ected by the mo -ernent of fighter regiments in October have been identified at their airfields. The fighter regiments at Koethen and Finow must be new units whose arrival in the Russian Zone was not observed, It was reported'that two trainloads of airmen from the USSR arrived at Koethen during November. The origin of the troops at Finow has not been determined. Flying activity observed there to date is characteristic of training and retraining of pilots, Observations indicate a possibility that the units at Koethen and Finow were newly activated with new personnel and were equipped with aircraft left by the fighter regiments transferred to the USSR. The numbers on the aircraft observed at these fields are the same as those trans- ferred in October. SUBJECT Soviet 00 Su :iary 29 November - 6 December 1951 NO. OF PAGES OF ENCLS. Unidentified units allegedly arrived in Lent enfeldjVogtland, in late November. Unidentified tank units arrived in Zwickau during the same period. 3. Between 3 October and a'"out 1 December, at least 54 trainloads of recruits arrived in the Russian Zone of Gerriany. Between the same dates, at least 39 to 41 trainloads of dischar ed personnel left the Russian Zone of Gerr2nny for the USSR. By the same calculation, a, out 50,000 men left the zone during this period. Micro were vague indications that the e:tchangc program may have ceased during the first week of December.
