SUBJECT: Clearance of State Cable are Chile Policy (NSDM 93)
The State Department wishes to send the attached cable, an
accurate paraphrase of NS,DM 93 on Chile, to Embassy Santiago.
Arnie N a.chaxanoff and Dick Kennedy concur in the cable, but
Didk suggests elimination of paragraph 4 an the OEP study on
copper as a separable item and not necessary for the Embassy
at, this point. Arnie believes the paragraph could stay in, but
would not object to the removal.
RECOMMENDATION:
That you approve the attached teelegram with the elimination of
paragraph 4.
