Attached are eight sketches showing the location and appearance of the
following bridges in Latvia:
Plan of Riga Strand (56-59N, 23.51E).
Kegs 1. New railway bridge (see sketch No. 2).
2. New road bridge (see sketch No. 3).
Sketch Noa 2: View of new railway bridge over River Lielupe (see plan, sk
No. 1). The railway line is single track across the bridge,
The centralspan can be raised to allow the passage of ships.
Sketch No. 3: View of new road bridge over River Lielupe (see plane sketch
No. 1). The bridge is of wood and approximately seven meters
wide. There is a searchlight at each end of the bridge and
also a sentry post.

This bridge was scheduled to be cut into commission for the
October Revolution holiday in 1950,, The straight framework
showing behind the arched spans is the old railway bridge.

The main buildings of the power station are on the `other side
of the River Daugava, The bridge is guarded by IAVD sentries,
posted approximately 100 meters apart. The bridge is open
to road traffic.
