Picture 1 This depicts the corner of Cika Ljubina and Kneginje Ljubice Streets in Belgrade. This kind of scene can be seen at all times of the day. People are standing in line in front of the mess waiting to receive their meagre meal. Among them are former professors, lawyers, merchants, officers, employees and workers. At the other corner behind the mess is an office issuing food coupons. Pension cards are also issued here. By this method the poor population is regimented and impoverished. Picture 2 Thousands of land owners are sent out on forced labor projects only because they wished to cultivate their land themselves. All those who dared to say they did. not wish toluntarily to join the Peasants Workers Cooperatives have met with a fate described in the attached picture. The land owner and his wife are handcuffed by the militia and sent to jail and their entire estate is requisitioned. Everything is taken from their home. In the spring and summer of 1949, the Communists reported that a large number of peasants had joined the workers cooperatives. This actually did take place but under the greatest pressure exerted by the Party and its agents. Thousands of people were sent out on forced labor projects. One need no longer ask why there is starvation in Communist countries and why the fields do not bear crops. 3, Picture 3 This building under construction is located on Milosa Velikog street and next to it is a large forced labor ccamp. In it are former engineers, workers, industrialists, merchants and tradesmen. The Ministry of Internal Affairs alone, when constructing its building, used 12,000 forced laborers. These laborers worked both day and night under pressure of the guards who are Communists. Guns are constantly aimed at the workers. There are a number of similar labor camps in Belgrade, in Senjak, Cukrica, and on the Danube River, and there are two camps which belong to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia. Their stores, which do not have displays and are very well camouflaged with curtains, contain everything and these people can buy what they wish.
