2. You and I know that Mr. Kir k approved the

retention of his clearance, and even enlisted
Mr. Dulles' aid in getting the Foundation grant to finance
the program; but there seems to be no written record of these
actions. Mr. Kirkpatrick is gone, [-::]is gone, and 25X1
Deap Griffith. of American University is gone. You and I
were involved only peripherally at the time the program was
.approved.
3. I suggest that I talk this over with
and then, if the DDS approves, take it to Col. White for
decision.

SUBJECT : Participation of Agency iersonnel in
American University Course
1. Paragraph 4 of this memorandum requests current approval
of the participation of Agency personnel in American University's
Seminar and Workshop in Intelligence Analysis, listed in the
Univers ty's cats og as course No. .
2. The development of. the course and Agency participation
in It were approved by the Executive Director-Comptroller of
the Agency in March of 1964, and the intelligence School of the
-Office of Training was designated as the Agency liaison The' development of the course was. initiated by 125X1
who began the work immediately after his retirement r 25X1
Office of Training of the Agency on 28 February 1964. 25X1
retained his Agent clearance and was in a consultant status. In
the summer of 1965 place was taken b

3. The course work uses only unclassified material, and all
