OF ENCLS (LISTED BELOW) SUPPLEMENT fEPORT NO. 25X1 A 25X1 X 1. ?'then the Russians arrived at Ueubrandenburg in 1945,.they found, on the airfield and at the torpedo testing station on the Tollencesee, about five hundred lklesser- schmitt type jet fithter planes w'nich they shipped to Russia. !coat of these planes were in the hanmrs and parttculariy in an undeirFround hangar which lies in an area of the field which is strongly warded. Only Russian soldiers and workman who live in the reconditioned barracks nay go there, and they are not rermitted to leave the field. 2. Since April 1949 about 450 workmen have been working on the reconditioning! of the airfield. In.Sune, a large staff of Russian envineers arrived with about 1200 men to comr1ete the work. About one half of the new runway is completed and it is to be finished in September. The two orininal runways only needed to be re- paired in a few places. The new runAy is made of reinforced concrete and is to be about 3,800 meters lon'. The radio direction finder station, at the north-west and of the field is not yet finished, but the Russian engineers are working on it. The hangars are once more in usable condition. The guard houses at the entrance to the field are intact. The ^otor pool han,,ar near the entr nceto the field is also completed. 3. where are about 100 officers and men stationed at the field. At the end of Aunust ere were ei,7ht twin enri.ne rlanes marked on the hangar aprons which made flights 2astin;' about two hours each' during! the dayti^le.
