1. On 2 August 1949, %kola Ljubisic, Yugoslav tJorrercial Attache in Vienna,
calved a priority request from the Yugoslav Tanistry of Mises to procure dyna-
mite caps Ilhich ware urlently needed by the Ministry's coal mininr section.
Ljubisiea deputy? Safet Hadzic, arranged through Technopromet, Yugoslav pir-
chasing agency in Vienna, to 751rehase 400,000 dynamite oats at a total cost of
$39,200 (calculated at the legal rate of echillings to the dollar) from 'Chaffler
CC Co., Vienna XV, Sturemese 34. Hadzie received the caps on that same day (2
August 1949) from the Schafflor factory in Ninzendorf, Lower Austria, loaded,
100,000 of them into his car, and drove to Maribor, where he delivered them to
a reprenentative of the Ministry of Mines,
tirail has apparently chosen'to ignore the Tito-Cominform rift in its present
profTram of liiuidatinc! Ito surplue stocks, and recently several USIA depart-
ments have arproached Yugoslav corrercial representatives in Vienna regarding
the sale of USIA geode. A/0 Avtovelo has offered the Yugoslays 20 rotor-driven
railroad section care at 30,000 schillings each.* The Central Cornercial Ilzreau
at Vienna I, Stalinplatz 10, is trying to sell all or Tart of a 1,000 ton lot of
shoot metal now stored at a Schnidhuette Krems arehouse.
3, 3ohann Haselgruber has recently made several offers to Yugoslav ymrchasing
ageuts regarding the sale of large stocks of machinery and other items now
held in the '!estern Zones of CT:rrmany; he proposes to ship these goods to
Yugoslavia via Antwerp.** Hase1grub3r is quoted as saying that during re-
cent 7Jeelco he has done a large volume of business with the soviets and dur-
ing August 1949 he sold them an estimated 6,000 tons of goods which originated
in western Austria. Haselgruber is said to maintain offices at Vienna VIII,
Lenaugaeee 10; at Linz, rianriederstramie 26; at Viktoriastnasm 33, Dusseldorf;
and at the lotel Kaiserhof, ailseen, Ger-any, where his representative is one
von Appel.
4, Dr. Esol n.. Frank, residing at Vienna 1$ i'nendorferstrasse 6, is now trying
to sell nerman Army rifles and aircraft engines to the Yugoslays through a
commercial agent, one Mato Slavmovio.

5. To date* an estimated total of 1,500 tons of iron rails has been shipped
by barge to Yugoslavia in accordance with terms of USIA's contract with
/Ira*, Ruppan, export-import firm in Trieste.***
6. Austrian and Yugoslav commercial representatives are to meet in Pelgrade
on 15 September 1949 to prepare a new commercial agreement between thpir
countries.
