25X1 X a reorganization of the Czechoslovak i inistry of Forei n :affair took place
along the lines of the i ussian Foreign Service organi;aation. Unc er the new
plan the former "Sections" (personnel, political, intelligence, aconoluic,
passport and legal) have been abolished and the Ministry has beer divided
geographically into nine ?Sizegions". Each region is then iubdivic ed into
Departments, similar to the old organization, with Lhe e .ce,tion of a

reason for the reorganization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs -night be
an effort to limit., the knowledge of a particular individual! to ore
geographical area.

various Regions according to the countries involved,
th?t'i.nalgranting of passports, theoretically at
last, is done by the Passport Office, which handles
all passport and visa matters for tha entire Ministry.
As a matter of practice, however, passports for
diplomatic and consular employees of the Ministry are
Issued by the Ministry of Interior and approved,
unofficially., by Bedrich GEMINDFR of the Central
Committee of the Communist Party.
Sind the reorganization, the former titles associated with specific positions
