A new Index is suggested for the diffusion behavior of
,Laddlngs. It is shown mathematicaLly that the curve
d = f(r) as a rule is a parabot a. After prolunged
perlods of heating, It may be approximated by Its
tangent. The penetration depths at various tempera-
turcs on the silver side are determined for the pairs of
metals Ag/Al, Ag/7n and Ag/Cd. In the pair of metals
Ag/Zn. a swelling of the intermediate layers formed
