Diamond grinding wheels bonded with bronze were
advantageously sharpened with ceramic bonded
carborundum honing stones. A requirement was f4 f 1
recognized that the grains of the hone must be some-
what coarser than those of the diamond used In the
apparatus. The rule of thumb for figuring the grain
number of the hone In the usual diamond dealgrtations

- 1500C in dependence on the preliminary thermal treat-
ment of the alloys. The constants of propagation dif-
fusion were measureJ in the region of the three enantio-
tropic phases of the alloy. The order of magnitude
amounted to 10- 2 to I cm 2 day- 1. -Me electrolytic
transport numbers of the alloys of the compositions
Cul. 8.ziTe and Cu"7 Te were determined at 4 tOcIC
( --Cu2-xTe) and at ~350C (13-CU2-xTe). They are of
the order of magnitude of 10-4. The existence of pre-
dominating defect conductivity of electrons and Cu +
ions was concluded from the results. (Author)
