Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/04/26: CIA-RDP78BO4747A000700040045-2 I'm afraid I must also agree with TID's #3 and some comments.25X1 I would refer to the minutes o the multi-sensor committee to th OFYi It looks like we've got a good way to go 25X1 yet. Insofar as crisis management indicating is concerned MIDAS is the only capability which will be used to give a tip off to the Dew Line -- otherwise SL radar and IR do not meet the requirements. (This based on the Indication Task Force's deliberations). I cannot get any definitive plans for future use except in tactical situations -- then it is only piecemeal and to date we have been able to meet all the requirements levied on us. Recommend the mensuration Task be dropped at this time until there are more definitive parameters set and plans developed for employment in strategic collection efforts. After the R&D is completed or further down the pike we may be able to come to grips with this effort. I think it is essential that we keep a, close watch on this! I hope this helps you.
