SUBJECT: OC-AMD Staff Notes 26-30 November 1984
1. The Office of Central Reference will install an Integrated
Library System (ILS) in the CIA Library during FY85. This
minicomputer-based system will provide library patrons and staff
members with access to an on-line catalog of library collections.
ILS will be purchased during the first of this fiscal year;
equipment installation is due four months later, with full system
operations in late FY85. OCR is prepared to purchase and supervise
the installation of these terminals. The OC Library has agreed to
participate in the ILS efforts and is looking forward to having a
terminal installed in the OC Library.

students. Two Operations and two Technical instructors from the
Communications School (CS) and two technicians fro will
be attending the course. Training will be conducted in Falls

3. Approximately was spent on external training during
FY84. This expenditure is a percent increase over FY83. While
inflation had some impact on costs, the percent increase was due
primarily to a percent enrollment increase in training contracts
with commercial companies.
4. There are OTD instructors and
providing TOY support for training requirements.

5. A total of 22 CS staff members attended a special running of
the Urban Awareness seminar 29-30 November, held at the Xerox
complex in Leesburg, Va.

12. During the week, Panel N experienced no losses or gains of
technical personnel. Panel N is technicians over authorized
ceiling. However, this figure include technicians who are in the
process of leaving Panel MCN, participating in the OJT program,
attending initial EOD training, and serving in assignments other
than Panel MCN. With these categories deleted, Panel MCN is 28
technicians under strength. Panel MCD experienced a gain of and a
loss of personnel.
13. AMD representatives departed 27 November on a recruiting
effort in Seattle, Washington and Sacramento, California.
