On 19 and 26 October 1962 a large radar installation was observed on small bill. on Punta Stupisce, Vis (Lissa) Island (N 43.02/E 16.10).1 the radar, which had an internal dimension of about 10 meters and an overall height of about 20 meterso appeared to be mounted on a dark grey metal base about 15 x 5 meters gra size. 50X1-HUM 2. On the lower slopes of the bill on which the radar stood was a path alang,:l which there was an artillery position of five guns, which were retractable :- and camouflaged with foliage and other materials. . The guns were set up - inside caves. 50X1-HUM 3- In the vicinity of the radar, directly to the north, was a white building with a dark red roof. Immediately on the left of this building were two other similar structures identified as probable quarters for military personnel assigned to the post.
