In order to maintain the selected rate of rotary feed in the
course of a circular copying operation irrespective of the di-
stance of the machined point from the centre of the table the
type Fk 08c machine is equipped with a special device for the
automatic control of the rate of rotary feed during operation.
There Is an indicator fixed to the feed box of the machine
representing by its shape the spindle head and tool. This indi?
cator is set by means of the rear star wheel to suit the length
of the tool and the projection of the spindle. The whole device
is locked by means of the front star wheel. The speed of rot-
ation of the rotary tables is then controlled during operation
automatically and--continuously in relation to the distance at
which the tool Is working from the centre of the table.
~fhe lever of the slide for the selection of copying in coordi-
nates or circular copying or, If applicable. any other method
of copying is arranged at the right of the star wheels.
Since the allowance for the machineng of the workpiece often
varies the toot might break-'during automatic operation at any
point where the machining allowance is too great. This danger
is prevented by the torque limiting safety device which, In case
of i>verload of the cutter of any spindle. disengages all the
feeds and engages them again automatically as soon as the
cutter cuts itself free in the material

diameter of the cutter used. This diameter is shown by a figure

 ?Electrical'-equipment
The ingenious. yet simple electrical equipment of the machines has
made possible the most accurate method of copying known at pres-
ant, controiied by, an, electric; tracer and electromagnetic clutches
High speed relays of special design recclve? impulses, from the tracer
control electromagnetic clutches by direct current through accelerat-
ing condensers and reducing resistors. The electromagnetic clutches
engage and_'disengage ,the cross slider table and spindle head feeds.
Patents are pending In Czechoslovakia and abroad for the tracer, high
speed relay and electromagnetic clutch.;
`?The tcrminal board for the;iricoming line is arranged on the clectro-
magnetic' clutch box.' The main switch is on the door of 'the elect
,,-tr1caI,instruments'box. When it is on a light burns above the switch
and; another one on the control` board of the spindle head on which
practically all,-the other controls of-:the electrical equipment are
`concentrated. ;
The machine has a total of six electric motors, normally squirrel
;;cage ones, .380p.20 ,Volts, 3 'phase,,50 cycles.: The electromagnetic -'.;','clutches and ; auxiliary equipment are 'controlled by direct current
`supplied,by"?,a' 110 V,d.c. dynamo, which forms part of set fitted

Hand Interference with the copying operation is made possible` by"
a portablc?push button box suspended on the stand.
'::.The independent lighting system of the machine is designed for 24 Volts

in the clcctrical'instruments box.
The whole electrical,equipment bulk to the standard specifications'
applicable Is'built into the stand, yet_it. is ?easily.accessible. So there
Is no separate, cabinet, for, the-Fk 08 'machine. set- up apart from the
machine=which, as a rule; occupies a considerable amount of space.

The most important gears, main gear box of the milling spindle
drive and guiding surfaces of the spindle head are lubricated by
oil pumps driven of the machine. Their operation can be
checked by inspection windows. The all level is Indicated by
conveniently arranged oil level gauges. Practically all the other
gears run in an oil bath.
The main feed box, table (in case of the type Fk 08c machine
also the rotary tables). cross slide and the corresponding lead
screws and nuts are centrally lubricated by pressure lubricators.
These lubricators are piston pumps with a relatively larg
diameter of piston. When the handle Is turned the piston press&'r
the oil through the distributing cone to each lubricating point.

Cooling
A high capacity electrically driven centrifugal pump supplies
coolant - kerosene - to the points of machining through a pipe
with two nozzles and cocks.
The horizontal milling head (special equipment of the type
Fk 08c machine) has its own part of the coolant piping and
nozzles adjustable on and fixed to a guiding rod. 0

Apart from the power feed the machines are equipped, for
fine hand feed, with a worm gear and a pinion engaging in
a gearing on the spindle sleeve and, for coarse hand feed. with
a pinion engaging likewise in a gearing on the spindle sleeve
The safety clutch of the feed allows only the maximum per-
missible power to be transmitted and thus protects the ma-
chine from damage. The drilling pressure at which the safety
clutch disengages the power feed is adjustable The clutch is
controlled by a lever arranged above the depth scale. This
some lever also serves for disengaging the power feed when
working to a positive stop. The required depth of drilling is
set on a circular scale with a vernier. This arrangement enab-
les the depth of drilling to be set with an accuracy of 0.05 min
(0.002").
The scale of the type VR 4 is provided with 6 movable indica-
tors for various depths of drilling.

 The arm is marked by Its outstanding rigidity Its well chosen shape
and, well laid out system of reinforcing ribs reduce distortion by
twisting and sagging to a minimum in spite of the low weight The
wide guideways for the spindle head are accurately ground. The
arrn can very easily be rotated by means of a handle attached to
its end. The-electrical equipment is arranged inside the hollow of
the arm.'
The.slecve is reinforced by longitudinal and circular ribs and is
suspended on the column on a heavy axial ball bearing It is guided
at the bottom by several radial ball bearings on adjustable eccentric
pins.These bearings run in a track made of thoroughly heat treated
material,. This arrangement results in a lasting high accuracy and
easy' movement, The surface of the sleeve is accurately ground.
?The' sleeve of the. type VR 4 is locked on the column by means of
a. lever arranged at the right hand side of the spindle head, which
simultaneously locks the spindle head in position on the arm. The -
sPeeve of type VR 6 and VR 8 machines is locked on the column by
aseparate motor arranged in the head of the column and control-
ted. by a push button on the switch panel of the spindle head.
