13. Coastal Defense Battery
a radar controlled coastal defense battery is located at designator E.
This battery, thought to be an old German installation, is arranged in single
mounts with slit trenches connecting. Ordnance consisted of four guns of 8.8
cm barrel diameter and three guns of 21 cm barrel diameter.
14, Fire Control Radar The coastal defense battery: desdribed in paragraph 13 was
accompanied by fire control radar with antennas mounted on each gun. The antenna
consisted of parabolic reflectors with diapetits in the cente;,

15. Naval Faci:,1Aes A naval facility and doe located on either side of
the channel near the entrance to the port. At egnator F is located a berthing
area for Soviet naval vessels and designator 0 a, berthing areafbr Polish naval
vessels.

Soviet Naval Vessels Sighted. Berthed at designator F were three Soviet destroyers.
They were described as small, one funnel, single-mast craft, having a mattress
type radar reflector. antenna and two 12. cm main batter uns mounted in single
enclosures fore and aft. They appeared to 50X1-HUM
resemble AMC No 105, the IRONSTADT class, more than other types. Also berthed at
designator IF were about 20 Soviet PT boat. described as having two torpedo tubes,
flying bridge and two small caliber automatic guns aft. They were identified as
members of the VOSPER class.
17. Polish Naval Vessels Sighted At designator G a very old Polish AMS type vessel
was berthed. This was believed to be an ex-German craft.
18. Status of Naval Units Both Polish and Soviet vessels were observed to be fully
operational and were believed to be frequently employed. Their general condition
was fair, though some hull plates showed minor signs of wear and buckling. Per-
sonnel aboard were thought to be in excess of normal complements and appeared to
superabound on vessels sighted.
