Point #42: Dependents' Quarters for Communist Party Staff Personnel and field Grade Army Officers: This area was surrounded by a stone wall 2 meters high, and contained many (number *unknown) 1-and-2-story buildings of various sizes and construction, including brick. All of the buildings bad tile roofs. Some of the buildings were newly constructed in the summer of 1956, while others were built during Japanese occupation. One person operated this station (hours of operation unknown); it serviced. only military vehicles. A brick smoke stack, 25 meters high and 3 meters in-diameter, was .located on the south side of the area. Approximately 145 ex.-prisoners, including Source, "who had completed their sentence," but were forced to work for the prison, labored at the factory and produced 50,000 bricks and 10,000 tiles daily. Soma sections of the factory operated on a 3 eight-hour shift basis, while other sections operated 1 eight-hour shift. Raw material was obtained from a nearby quarry.
