1. Introduction:
Military complex for the production of weapons)built after the war
and being continously developed in regard to both buildings, and processing
machinery)as well as production.
In 1954 (?) with the absorption of some unspecified unity for production
of weapons of the "Red Banner" complex in KRAGUJEVAC, the factory acquired
greater importance and became one of the main ones in Yugoslavia.
Besides, this complex also manufactures tractors and various agricultural
implements for civilian industry and some undetermined part for the
automobile factr-in MARIBOR (T.A.M.)
2. Location:
NOTE:- In the earlier report about this objective, the factory was
located -- dlieto the use .of topographic maps which were not up to date

at MIEICI (E 1732/4430 N) for test firing.

Production was begun about four years ago;
Production data: The Bratstvo Factory produceyrom 1958 to April
1962,four turrets complete with 105 or 120-millimeter cannons whose
barrel was about five meters long;
Destination of production: In 1960, a tank chassis came to the
plant and one of the four turrets was mounted on it.
This mounting work was finished in April 1962 and the tank was

sent about April 1962 to Belgrade where it participated together with
13 other Russian tanks in the May-pay parade. After the military parade,
this tank did not return to bratst?o.
The other three turrets are still at the factory and the work on
completing them has not yet been finished.
The chassis of the tank -- judging from unspecified characteristics
inasmuch as it was always covered with tarpaulins -- arrived at the
complex with its own facilities by the ordinary route from the railroad
station in Zenica.
It was sent out by the same mean, 1t after work on it was
completed.
Yugoslav soldiers were driving the vehicle.
It is not known where the tank was built or from where it came.
The tank had the following weapons:
- 105 or 120-millimeter cannon' equipped with a muzzle brake
- a 12.7-millimeter Browning automatic anti-aircraft gun;
- 3 machine guns (2 on the front and one on the back of the
chassis).

According to hqVsay, the machine guns were built at the Red
Banner Plant in Kragujevac.
- The production unit is one of the most secret ones of the
Bratstvo Plant. About 10 workers who are among the most trusted ones
of the factory work there. The managing personnel consists of 2 engineers
and I. technicians whose offices are in Belgrade and they go to the plant
from time to time.
Access to this unit is prohibited to workers of this factory who
do not work for this unit. A security guard is always at the entrance.

11. Road Connections:
- About three years ago the existing road was asphalted and it was
Indicated on the map in use as linking the plant to Travnik.
The route of the road is as follows: Travnik - Dolac - Nevica
Polje - Stojkovici - Rankovici and on to the plant.
On the se-alai of the road between Rankovici and the plant/ arY
asphalted road was laid on the route of the former new trail;

12. Work to Expand the Plant

In July 1962 work to expand the forging shop of the plant with
the plant's own work force. The-Jmilding which at present measures
about 80 by 40 meters will be enlarged when the work is finished to
about 80 by 80 meters. The railroad spur track inside the complex will
also go inside the plant to the new wing of the building.
13. The Security Measures are Described as Follows:
- Performed by about 40 guards of the industrial militia with the
aid of eight German shepherd dogs;
- The chief of the guards is a certain Banjac

- The guards are armed with automatic rifles and Walser rifles;
- The guard posts are as follows: At the factory entrance is 24
hours a day; patrols around the various units inside the complex; and
along the outside enclosure of the complex at night.

to ithe\Bratstvo Factory inasmuch as both the trucks which haul material
and the automobiles are driven to those places by factory drivers.
The foreigners however who are sent to the factory and who are
not nationals of Soviet Bloc or Middle Eastern countries can drive
their own automobiles to Novi Travnik but cannot spend the night there

Therefore in these towns, it is believed that the control of the
traffic of individuals is also performed by members of the People's

14. Fire Fighting Measures:
Such measures are provided for by about 50 firemen equipped with
one fire truck of German manufacture, hand-operated fire extinguishers,

and fire hydrants and various water outlets. The firemen have a

15. The Complexes Stock of Vehicles is as Follows:
About 20 couriier vehicles, about 40 trucks of the Pap, Praga,
and Om makes, and about 10 automobiles for the managers.

17. Security Measures are as Follows:

The area of the complex is about 1,000 by 500 meters and is enclosed

by a barbed wire fence about two meters spft which is supported by con-
creteposts.
There are concrete lamtposts along the entire fence at intervals
of about 50 meters for night lighting.
The area where the complex is located is irregular and the factory
is squeezed between mountainous terrain. To camouflage this complex,
poplars and chestnut trees were planted many years ago inside it.

An emergency airfield is located northeast of Novi Travnik
between the towns of Stojkovic (15-21 E x 44-12 N) and Nevica Pole

Both during and after the constructing of the complex, light aitarafti
which were bringing persons from Belgrade to visit the complex, landed
there.
