That Mr. Casey's visit to Portugal in July 1986 was somehow
related to the covert procurement and "shipments... of tons of
weapons labled for delivery to Guatemala and Honduras.
That Fernandez had "approval of higher-ups in the CIA,
including Clair George." (sourced to Fernandez' statements
before the Tower Commission)
That in June 1985 COS Tegu "helped to settle a dispute between
contra factions over the distribution of private arms shipments

That CIA "threatened to manipulate air drops of supplies to the
Contras in order to force out Pastora." (ADCI's interpretation

That "CIA operatives used unmarked helicopters to deliver
explosives and other supplies to contra units inside Nicaragua"
during 1986; that the "helicopters delivered supplies to contra
contras" in 1986.
The crewman also said that helicopters with links to the CIA
regularly left and arrived at Aguacate....Ian Crawford...said
the CIA officer known as Mick once gave him permission to ride
aboard a helicopter to the Nicaraguan-Honduras border.
Crawford said that this helicopter was delivering plastic
explosives to a contra position near the border.... Another
crewman said...on one occasion...he flew fuel to the border at
the request of a CIA officer. The fuel was for helicopters
operating near the border. (Boston Globe, 11 Mar 87)
That two "CIA agents" at Aguacate engaged in training contras

Several crewmen...were asked to sign secrecy agreements in
September stating that they had been exposed to "classified
information"...and that they could be prosecuted by the
USG...if they disclosed any aspects of their work....The
agreement referred to..."CAS Ltd.," an apparent reference to
Corporate Air Services, an obscure air charter firm in
Quarryville, Lancaster County. The firm, headed by Edward T.
deGaray employed many of the crewmen, including Hasenfus.
(Philadelphia Inquirer, 8 Mar 87)
That the CIA's Latin American division chief...took a secret
trip to South Africa in early 1985 to solicit aid for the
contras....SAFAIR, a South African air transport
company... opened a US office several months after the 1985 trip
and signed a lease with Southern Air Transport Inc., a former
CIA-operated firm....Casey also made a secret visit in March
1986 to South Africa to strike a deal for South African
assistance to the contras....(Philadelphia Inquirer, 26 Feb 87)
Last week Congress found new cause for concern in reports that
the CIA is providing the "contras" with detailed information on
targets inside Nicaragua, including maps and blueprints of
bridges, dams and other facilities build by US agencies in the
1960s and 1970s.
A US intelligence source confirmed that former Rhodesian pilots
were used before and after military aid was cut off in 1984 [by
the FDN was implied]. When US aid was cut off, some of these
pilots were apparently paid through...Col North. The source
said as many as a half-dozen of the pilots have been under
contract to the [CIA] since military aid officially was resumed
last October. (Wall Street Journal, 25 Mar)
