APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. 50X1-HUM a unit of 6 naval vessels was observed 50X1-HUM on northeastern course at position 55?351N/15?301E. Afterwards they changed course to southeast. The, vessels ran at a speed of 12 knots, keeping a distance of 400 to 500 meters.. The forward vessel ran ahead at an approximate speed of 15 knots or even at a higher speed. Keeping the same course, the distance increased. The unit observed included the following vessels: 50X1-HUM Minelaying and minesweeping vessels of the KRAKE Class. flvine the flee of WA/See. the flags apparently were colored white and red. One of the vessels, the biggest, seemed to be the leading vessel of the uni4- Description: continuous deck with high sheer in the forecastle; 1 50X1-HUM tripod mast forward of the modern stack which had a raked cap with a dark edge; 2 fully armored one?barrel guns behind each other forward of the stack; the same type gun astern; square bridge with cupola; smell sueerstructure on the after body. Three of the vessels were of the following identi,1 type: Description: pole mast; 1 stack; flat bridge; deck with one sheer at stack level; 1 gun covered with tarpaulins on the long forecastle; crane or davits mounted on the stern. These three vessels were more than half the size of the big leading vessel. 50X1-HUM .2auaguti The report confirms the.copperation of NV/See with other Eastern Navies; in this case presumably with Poland. The biA 'vessel, which has been described in the above report and can be seen on the attached sketch most probably is a RIGA of NWA/See (which can also be seen on the sketch, showing the formation of the vessels). The Polish Navy does not have RIGAs and Soviet ensign would have been noticed on the vessels. According to description, sketch and identified color of flag, the three small vessels are presumably vessels of the Polish T-301 Class. For sketches, see Pages 3, 4 and 5.
