Maloney Director of Information Technology SUBJECT: Seminar--The Information Industry's Environment in the 90's 1. Enclosed are tickets for the 24 March seminar on the future environment that will be provided by the information industries in the mid-nineties. The tickets are for distribution within your Office, as you think appropriate. Admission is by display of either a reception invitation or a ticket. 2. A brief summary of the agenda and schedule are attached. 3. OIT is sponsoring this seminar because of a concern that, as information systems become an integral aspect of our operational capabilities, Agency managers will have the insight necessary to plan the future of their organizations. 4. Projecting the future is always risky business. To bring as much knowledge, judgment, and experience as possible to this enterprise, we have selected a senior group of speakers. All of them are recognized within their spheres as experts and leaders. They have unusually broad perspectives into the significance of emerging technologies and the strategies of industry groups in exploiting them. We have tried to arrange a program that will provide a mosaic of the different dimensions of this future, with enough overlap to reveal the diversities of viewpoint. 5. We hope that a good cross section of your a management people will be able to take advantage of this opportunity. STAT war i.
