In my letter of September 3rd, I invited you to attend a
meeting in New York in which we could exchange views on the
directions our information systems will take during the next ten
years.
Unfortunately, more pressing events have forced us to
postpone our plans to meet during October. We apologize for any
inconvenience that this change may have caused. We are, however,
arranging another meeting between senior executives from the CIA
and private industry on December 11th. Because NYNEX is a
recognized leader in the telecommunications industry and in the
application of advanced information technology, we would welcome
your participation in such a forum.
Please let me know if you would be able to join us in
discussing the future of our information systems. I may be

The Central Intelligence Agency is holding a meeting of its Executive
Director and other top CIA officials on October 22-23 in New York City.
One purpose of the meeting is to gain a perspective from private industry
on its decision-making process for information system acquisitions.
Additionally, it would be useful if we could discuss the following questions:

What major changes are going to occur in the way your company does
business over the next ten years?
0 What will be the major changes in your company's information systems
infrastructure and applications portfolio over the next ten years?
0
What major changes will be required in your company's information
systems organization and role in order to manage, deliver, and
support these evolving business needs and information systems
capabilities?
I would like to invite you to attend this meeting on the afternoon of
October 22 to discuss the above subjects. The meeting will be held at the IBM
Corporation at 590 Madison Avenue.
