The Forschungsanstalt ffir Elektrochemische Stromquellen? located on the
premises of the Accumulatoren Fabrik Varta, BerlineCborschoeneweide?
alhelminenhofstr. 68-69, was dissolved at the end of November 1949.
The Soviet chief of this institute,- Major Tomashevdkiihad already left
in July 1949. From that date on the institute was administered by the
NSF, Berlin-Oberschoneweide? Ustendstr. 1-50 which) until its transfer
to the SAG Rebel, belonged to the Ecientific Technical Department of the
Ministry for Communication Equipment Industry (NTOAPSS, Code No. 43/21).
The Forechungsanstalt fur Elektrochemische Stromquellen probably belonged
to the Scientific Technical Department of the Ministry of Chemical Industry.
(NTO/MBP0 Code No, 43/40). During the last weeks of its existence, however,
the Soviet Kazakov of Siemens Annie, Berlin-Lichtenberg, Herzbergstr.
128-139 wound up the affairs of the institute.*
2. The institute employed approximAay 35 Skilled workers and 'one scientific
chief, Dr. Johannes Fischer, an electro chemist, .who now works at the Insti-
tut.fdr Faserstoff-Forschung der Deutschen Akadenio der ssenschaften0
Berlin-Teltow-joehof. The task of the Forschungsanstalt f?r Elektrochemische
Stromquellen was the development of dry cell batteries.
