Machine Industries Ministry. The area of the in- _stallation extends about one thousand mo in. an east-west direction and 500 mo in a .north-south-directiono About 12 thousand workers were employed there in 1951, The basic materials necessary at this works (i,go iron ore9 coke, limestone; scrap iron) are stored in three yards located several km,- away from the installation. 3. Production c?nsists of metal sheets, "IP and. "T" type irons, hoop irons, reinforced concrete iron, rolled rabies (five mm? and over)0 _Iron and steel production for 1952 was expected to be about one million tons. The Furnaces office. This was a single story building about 15 by 10 m in size. 3. The lime-burner, This was a reinforced concrete bui1di4; about 10 by 10 m in size. Its height was similar to that of a four-story building. 4. Blast furnaces (four of them). Each of them was as high as a nine- story building. 5. Street. :6. Smoke stack. It was 103 m,high, with a? diameter of'10 m at ground level, constructed of some special materiaA (not iron). 7. Cooling water tower, It was of wooden construction, and was circular in shape, about 30 m,in diameter and approximately as high as an eight story building. Area occupied by electrical transformers: for the town's power supply. 94 Office building. This was a modern building three stories high, of brick or concrete construction. .ray stucco covered, approximately 50 by 30 m,in size, The gabled roof was probably slate. It contained the General Director's office, Technical Director's office, Commercial Director's office, Materials and Products Traffic Department, and the Planning and Statistics Department_ 10. Entrance. 11. Turbine House. This was a separate structure, about as high as a five- story house, approximately 80 by 40 m in size. The roof was probably slate. There were approximately four turbines from which the town of Ozd received its power supply. 12. Street, covered with iron sheets. 13. Area occupied.by residential buildings and gardens. 14. This area was occupied by crane ways: basement tempering containers and blast furnace bottom platforms. There were 40-50 tempering containers. 15. Gas generator building. This was a wooden building of a dirty dark color, approximately 150 m- long and 30 m,widel and as high as a three- story building. The roof was probably tar-paper covered. 16. Mixing and Martin (open-hearth) furnaces (Keveroe es Martin Kemenaek). There were approximately 14 furnaces, extending for approximately 100 ni in east-west direction. 17. Loading area. la. Guest House (for Soviet guests). This was a villa type building. 19. Entrance. 20. Culture house (Kultur Haz). This building was three stories high, of brick construction, stucco covered and anproximately 100 by 30 in in size. The gabled roof was tile covered. This building also had a movie theater with a seating capacity of approximately 500 seats. 21. This was a two-story brick (brown colored) building, approximately 30 by 30 in in size with a gabled tile roof. (A guest house.) 22.. Technical Offices buildlna This was a single story, stucco covered brick building, approximately 30 mo long. and eight m,wide. The roof was tile-covered. ? 23. Area occupied by residential buildings of the installation' employees (the buildings were actually factory property). 24. Entrance. 25. Area occupied by residential buildings 264 Storing area for fire-resisting.bricks. 27. Fine rollers shop (Finomhengerde). This building was probably of reinforced concrete, approximately 100 by 100 m in size, approximately as high as a two or three story building. The roof was partly covered with .glass. The roof, is. probably, in part, made of reinforced concrete. 27A. Loading area for finishedmateriala. M. The Fire-Resistant Materials Factory in Ozd (Ozdi Tuezallo Anyag Gyar). This factory consisted of several buildings of brick construc- tions tile covered. It was separated from the subject installation. It manufactured silicon and magnesite bricks for different factories. The area of factory was approximately 150 by 100 m. 30. Storing place for the fire resistant materials. 31. Normal gauge rail tracks 32. Rail tracks gate. ,33. The Ozd Railway Station. There were about ten normal gauge rail traCks in the station's marshaling yards. 34. Central storage building. Materials needed for the operation of this installation were stored there (such as lubricants, leather belts for engines, etc) This building was of brick construction, stucco covered, and approximately 35 by 20 moin size. Its height was similar to a two- story building. The roof was gabled and tile covered. 35. The Central Machine-Tools Repair Shop (Koezponti Szerszamgep Javito). This was a massive building, probably of concrete construction, approximately 80 by 30 in in size, its height that of a four-story -building. It had a gabled roof of unknown material. 364 Smith's shop. 37. The loading area for the rough rollers shop ffee #3?7. 36. The Rough Rollers Shop (Durvahengerde). This section was approximately 100 m long,. The roof was of metal with glass sections. . There were in this section about two heavy rollers, one or two medium rollers an. One or two fine rollers. Loading area." Area containing water cooling basins and equipment. It looks like a :swimming pool. The area was approximately 150 by 80 m in size and . probably contained two basins. 414 'nest heaters -(Cowper stoves) (Leghevitoek).
