Please accept my thanks for your very thoughtful
acknowledgment of my selection for promotion to Major General.
I really appreciate your gracious remarks.
As I know you understand, for me, this is a milestone both
thrilling and sobering. All I can do at this point is to
pledge a determined resolve to live up to the tremendous trust
placed upon me by the Air Force, and perhaps, implicitly, by
the intelligence community.
It was a pleasure to have met and talked with you during
your brief visit to Hawaii. I am strongly committed to a close
and cooperative relationship with your Agency, in the face of
the critical challenges we mutually confront.
Again, thanks for your note and the sentiments it
represents -- which mean a great deal to me. And, best wishes
