The official organ of the Republic, DIARIO DE CENTRO AMERICA, has published the instrument ratifying this agreement, signed by the president of the Republic and issued through the Ministry of Foreign Relations. Previously, through diplomatic channels, both countries had exchanged notifications that the respective constitutional requirements and procedures had been fulfilled. According to the agreement, the cooperation between the two countries relates to the implementation of programs to reduce the illicit demand for drugs, to eradicate drug crops, to engage in activities aimed at curbing and prosecuting activities carried out in connection with the drug trade and drug addiction, and to identify and destroy laboratories and other facilities in which such products are processed illicitly.
