SUBJECT: Audit of the Management of Special Access Programs at
the Defense Intelligence Agency (Project No. 7IN-082)
In the enclosed August 20, 1987 memorandum, we announced our
audit objective for the Audit of the Management of Special Access
Programs at the Defense Intelligence Agency. Now that the audit
survey is complete, we have redefined the audit objective to
include an evaluation of the program results for two special
access programs (SUN STREAK and STUNT PILOT). We will also
evaluate two additional special access programs (IDLER WHEEL and
908) for which we did not obtain access during the audit survey.
In order to avoid program access delays similar to those
experienced during the audit survey, please advise us of any
anticipated problems in granting the audit staff access to any
program data. We will continue to use your previously designated
points of contact for this audit. For additional information,
concerning this audit, please contact either Mr. Alvin L.

SUBJECT: Audit of the Management of Special Access Programs at
the Defense Intelligence Agency (Project No. 7IN-082)
We plan to begin this audit in August 1987. The audit
objective will be to determine whether special access programs
are properly established, executed, reviewed, coordinated and
managed at the Defense Intelligence Agency. The audit will
include evaluations of the business functions, the operations
related to those programs and the adequacy of the oversight of
the Agency's participation in joint programs with other DoD
components, Government Departments and activities. It is
requested that the addressees coordinate the necessary accesses
to program managers and information.
Mr. Alvin L. Madison is the Program Director and Mr. Bill A.
Roderick is the Project Manager for this audit. Please designate
