to enlarge the military zone on Hvar (Lesina) Island., A group of. 7 or 8
military guards were housed in the fish pickling factory. Near the factory

.undetermined contents were observed. the Yugoslav
Government is permitting and facilitating the removal of the local civilian
Population which formerly numbered about 10000; in November there were only
,about 250 left, mostof whom were fisherman.

Island military installation as viewed from the sea. One high (90-100 meters)
antenna mast, a truck roads and several masonry buildings are visible in the
photograph.
