Dear General Perroots:
Twice a year we present the Intelligence Issues Course
to Executive Secretaries of the Central Intelligence Agency
and other organizations within the Intelligence Community.
The objective is to expand the secretaries' understanding
of how the CIA and other members of the Intelligence
Community deal with current intelligence issues. This
program includes presentations by senior officials and
trips to field sites.
I would be pleased if you could speak to this class
at the Pentagon during the next running of this course from
6 to 13 January 1988. I suggest the afternoon of 7 January,
but will be happy to accommodate your schedule if the time
is not convenient. I believe the students would benefit
greatly from your remarks on the mission and function of the
Defense Intelligence Agency. They would also be very inter-
ested in seeing the Alert Center and other areas of the
Pentagon you feel would be relevant to the context of this
course.
