Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/22 : CIA-RDP89-00955R000200320025-4 STAT OTE 87-6508 MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Information Technology FROM: SUBJEC : 2 Director of Training and Education The Softswitch Connection 4 iluv ai 1. On 30 October 1987 the Office of Training and STAT Education's (OTE) Executive Officer, and the Chief STAT of the Information Systems Training Division, OTE STAT attended a briefing by on the Softswitch Connection. It appeared to us that this new facility to provide cable dissemination would be very useful to OTE. I often have to respond to cables with a relatively short time delay. We also receive cables related to training and administrative purposes. At present, these cables must be delivered in paper form from Headquarters. On several occasions the lack of timely receipt of these cables has caused OTE significant problems. Softswitch sounds like the answer to this very real problem. STAT STAT 2. Unfortunately, according tc it appears that Softswitch would only work at Chamber of Commerce if we had a WANG VS gateway. While we have five WANG Alliances, we do not have a WANG VS. I request that OIT acquire a WANG VS gateway for OTE access to Softswitch. cc: DTE Chrono ISTD OTE Registry Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/22 : CIA-RDP89-00955R000200320025-4
