The strategy of the American
Left in the wake of the Cuban de-
bacle already can be discerned. It
is to present the consolidation of
Castro's power as relatively unim-
portant, to blame failure of the in-
vasion on inadequate U.S. ties with
, extreme leftist Cuban groups, to
insist on social re ---,don in Latin
America, and to demand replace-
rent of Central Intelligence Agen-
cy director Allen Dulles with a man
of known liberal-left views.
A campaign appears to have be-
gun to get rid of Mr. Dunes and re-
place him ?\-i h Te;ford Taylor,
longtime tqibcral" and critic of
Congressional investigations into
security matters.
' The big push for Mr. Taylor first
became apparent when The Wash-
ington Post sent un a trial balloon
by mentioning his name. Then C.
L. Sulzberger wrote in The New
York Times that sonic quar-
ters were hoping that criticism of
the CIA would accelerate the
process of getting Yr. Taylor the
post held by Mr. Dulles.
Congress should squelch this
move before the ball starts rolling.
No one with Mr. Taylor's record of
association with the apparatus and
causes of American "liberalism"
should be considered for any post
