In January 19512, privately-owned fuel tank installatiops in Aken/Elbe
OK 52/D 96)e Cottbus (N 52/A 57)e and Brandenburg (N 53/Z 23) were
expropriated. Fuel from Soviet Zone plants is stored in these tanks
and then shipped to Leningrad via Stettin (0 54A 55) and other Baltic
Sea ports, *
Comment. It is believed that the fuel tank installations were requisitioned
y or. er 3r7fHe Soviets. However, it is believed that these installations will
remain under the administration of the Deutsch-liussische Naphtageselischaft 50X1-HUM
(German Soviet Naphta Corporation) (DerunapW or of the Deutsche Xraftstoff-
und aneraloel-Zentrale (German Fuels and Cils Central) (DMZ). The
Aken fuel dump has a stora7e capacity of aoproximately 7,000 cubic meters. 50X1-HUM
? The existence of fuel dumps in
Cottbus and 3randenburg was learned from a circular of Derunapht dated 28
February 1951 in which the dumps in Cottbus and Brandenburg were designated
as P 501 and P 513. It is not clear why the fuel produced in Soviet Zone
hydrogenation plants is no lon,er shipped from these plants directly to
btettin
