Offer of CIA Advice in Revision of "Trends in
Economic Growth," prepared by the Joint
Committee on the Economic Report
1. In line with our telephone conversation of today, I am
forwarding to you a memorandum prepared by our Acting Chief of the
, Economic Defense Division, ORR. This memorandum states that

for revising the subject Report in response to the objectives of the
Subcommittee on Foreign Economic Policy, as set forth in paragraph 2
of the enclosure.
2. This Office has particular competence on economic trends
within the Sino-Soviet Bloc and on the nature, extent, and actual
performance of Communist economic activities in underdeveloped areas.
