SUBJECT : Outside Consultants on Daily Report Editing
and Copy Preparation
1. The following two individuals will be involved in the study
of Daily Report editing and copy preparation procedures that is
scheduled to be conducted beginning 9 July:
a. Christopher G. Trump, Assistant Dean, Columbia University
School of Journalism. Trump is also an adjunct editor of the
New York Daily News; writer for The New York Times, The
Wall
Street Journal, and other publications; and a consultant for
numerous organizations. Graduate Georgetown School of Foreign
Service.
b. Stephen R. Conn, consultant to Columbia University School
of Journalism, journalist, editor, and public affairs consultant,
former reporter and feature writer for The New York Times, graduate
Cornell and Columbia University.
2. Please advise your editors to be cooperative and frank
with these gentlemen on your editing and copy preparation problems.
