Three twin-engine transports, four biplanes and 50 fighters were seen at the wiener Neustadt (0 48/X 35) airfield on 15 February 1951. Since it was difficult to see the entire field it was not definite that all of the fighters parked at the field.were observed. The fighters seen had in-line engines. 2. A row of five lights extended from east to west just south of the road leading to 7;ool1ersdorf. The road was still located in 'he area of the field, on the southern edge of t.ND landing field. The lights werfkounted on pedestals 2.5 meters high- ** Uomment. -------- 50X1-HUM It has not been determined whether the transports, form an independent transport unit, whether they are assigned to the fighter regiment, or whether they are 50X1-HUM subordinate to the fighter division stationed in Straus:erg. Comment. The lights are probably for night landings.
