1. The Lisichansk Chemical Combine is located north of Lisichansk
at Severodonetsk [N 48-58, E 38-261 at the head of a bridge
.over the Donets River. The combine is surrounded by a wall
and anyone entering the combine is required to .show an entrance
permit. Civilian guards, armed with pistols and revolvers,
are posted at the main entrance and guards assigned to the
various factories carry rifles.
2. Within the combine are a number of chemical plants, including
a citric acid plant two ammonia pinnts, 50X1-HUM
a nitric acid factory and a urea plant which is under construc-
tion. Red fuming nitric acid is also produced, but further
details on production processes and materials are not known.
An electiical generating station and three steel towers for
a high-tension line are located ,in the combine, but it is
not known whether or not the high-tenSion lines are fed from
the generating station. Outside the combine there are also
three steel high-tension towers.
3, Floods which occurred at Lisichansk in June and July 1964
.4(., detrimental effect on operations at the cumbine as the
terrain of .he factory area lies some two meters higher than
that flooded by the overflowing Donets River.
