ELINT Peripheral Missions
I. For your information, I have learned from Colonel liacia
this morning that he has received the papers which we sent him on
memo of conversation with and the ELINT requirements.
2. He states that he is recommending to Walsh that .6.FCIN
support those requirements. fie cannot, of course, predict whether
alsh will accept his recommendation.
..1.1so of interest is the fact that I have learned that
tieneral .chow takes no sides on who should collect but feels that we
ought to get on with the ELINT collection outlined in the paper.
1.. I have not yet been able to estimate the official Navy position
if it were called for but my consultation with Navy specialists informally,
I noted the other day, portend complete agreement.
