SUBJECT: Fiscal Year 88 Budget Reduction
1. As you know, the Office of Logistics has received
notification that our FY 88 budget will be reduced by
A reduction of this enormity requires management to
make many hard decisions. OL is fortunate, in that, our Base
resources have grown significantly in previous years providing
us with some flexibility in handling these cuts. Nevertheless,
we will all need to tighten our belts and provide the type of
management that will allow us to operate more effectively and
more efficiently. It is imperative that these reductions be
absorbed with no decrease in services and no negative impact on
the image of OL. The reductions have been spread in as
equitable a manner as possible. Each OL component will be
operating with resources well below those available in FY 87.
The distribution of these reductions was determined after
careful review of the impact statements provided by your
office. Your cooperation and effort, in this regard, was both
helpful and appreciated.
2. The RECD Management budget for FY RR (FAN 117n1 will
be reduced

meeting which will likely be scheduled in January.
