S. The Professional Opportunities in Telecommunications
(POINT) program continues to experience a surge of activity. Five
interviews were conducted with prospective candidates, and those
candidates were approved for the program by their parent career
services.
6. With the end of the Fiscal Year (FY) drawing near, a
review of the OC attrition rate seemed appropriate. The overall
estimate that has been used for some time is a 10 percent rate for
the OC Career Service. The review showed that, in FY-86, OC
experienced an 11 percent attrition rate, and in FY-87 the
attrition rate is down to approximately 9 percent. This seems to
show a trend in the right direction, and that our ballpark
estimates are about right.
7. The television program produced by the Educational
Support Staff for the Office of Development and Engineering
project was shown to the Secretary of the Air Force, several of
his deputies, and general officers. The program was viewed at the
and all indications are that the program
was very well received and had the desired impact on the
audience. Several minor technical corrections are being made and
18 copies have been requested.
