MEMORANDUM FOR: Chief, Classification and Review Division, DA
Chief, Information and Privacy Division, DA
Chief, Regulatory Policy Division, DA
Director of Information Technology
FROM: William F. Donnelly
Deputy Director for Administration
SUBJECT: IG Survey of the office of Information Services
1. The final version of the Inspector General (IG) survey of the Office
of Information Services is attached for your review. Overall, I think the
IG inspection team made a fair and professional assessment.
response to the report, in the Components Response section, provides an
appropriate counterpoint. The Executive Director's comments on this report
are indicated at the paperclips. I am interested in your reactions to this
report.
2. Unlike the typical IG survey, this one does not offer any formal
recommendations. However, it makes a few suggestions on pages 47-49. I agree
generally with these suggestions. In particular, I plan to merge CRD and IPD
later this year to centralize the classification review functions for senior
MI personnel in key positions.
3. Please read this report and forward it quickly. I would welcome your
oral or written thoughts on it.
