1. Foundry, equipped with one open-hearth furnace, d to $
meters hii;h with a diameter of 4 meters and a capacity of
48 5 to 5 ions. The furnace was charged with 2a0 kg of i
. iron, ~ $(s0 kg of steel, scrap material from former castgngs
and was~e materiaZ~ 3000 kg of scrap? 50 kg of Lime, about ~
I~ kg of :.ilcon manganese, magnesium, and aluminum. Drawbars,
brake shoES, buf~ers, protective covers and shall special
parts were cast. Large cogwheels were a~sa produced and were
allegedly shipped to the Riga RES Turbine Factory, The waste
percentage was approximately 1~ percent. The foundry also
aantained ~,wo coal-fired cupola furnaces, each about b meters
high arxd 2 meters aide. The furnaces, alternately in operation,
~rere mainly used to cast railroad car frames. The foundry
cleani~xg sh;pp vas equipped i~ith a sand blast apparatus and
grinding ma~~hine.
