DD/I noted that the McCloy trilateral meetings will resume today to define areas of disagreement, such as the precise nature of the threat. DDCI noted that the trilateral meetings will provide a basis for determining NATO force levels. The Director said that he had read paper on European problems and sent it to State. Godfrey called attention to news articles from Peking by Toronto Globe reporter Oancia and said that, until intelligence is available, OCI will treat the Chinese internal situation in memoranda only. The Director agreed that the Agency should not rush into print on this subject. DDCI called attention to the scheduled visit to Washington of Godfrey noted a State cable from Conakry and reported information which suggests that a transcript of a book on intelligence by Roger Hilsman is presently in Washington. is announced that the question of moving I 25X1 no longer an issue.
