Decrissified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2013/10/24: CIA-RDP90-00191R000100050009-9 - STAT STAT STAT John Holmes Management Science America, Inc. Mack Centre IV 61 South Paramus Road 'Paramus, NJ 07652-1217 John: The CLAS team members met with Ladd Shinn on 30 July for preliminary discussions on modifying the MSA packages. I believe the day was successful. Discussions began with Ladd and myself delineating the scope of Ladd's capability to help us. The understanding is that Ladd is prepared to support changes to the packages. He is not prepared to support implementation efforts, which remain with the account managers. We held very general discussions on each package and the overall technical concerns. At the end of the day, however, we asked Ladd to apprise us on the effort required to: A. . Accept multiple Buying Entity Codes (BEC) on requests generated by the Manufacturing System and on p 35 -41- K requests originated in the Purchasing System. There is also a requirement to permit changes to BEC without having to cancel and re-enter--requests. B. Pass request data (request number, stock number, quantity, required date) from Purchasing to Manufacturing and pass inventory data on that request (request number, quantity released, unit price) back to Purchasing. This requirement assumes we're viewing the Manufacturing Inventory as if it were a vendor or Buying Entity, as we have discussed. C. Establish a wholly new screen, with data elements. cials For planning purposes, these screens represent data capture only, with no logic fields. The purpose of such a screen ftc would be to provide structured input instead of relying on the comment screens so much.
