Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2013/12/04: CIA-RDP92G00017R001000110011-3 STAT STAT 17 February 1989 MEMORANDUM FOR: Director, Office of Medical Services Director, Office of Security THROUGH : Deputy Director for Administration SUBJECT : Request from Make A Wish Foundation for CIA Employees to Meet with Terminally Ill Child 1. Harry Martens, Make a Wish Foundation, contacted this office to inquire about the possibility of meeting a terminally ill child whose wish is to meet people who create spy gadgets. Leon Justiniano, who is eleven years old, is active in a correspondence group that shares information about James Bond-type inventions. 2. According to Mr. Martens, Leon and his younger brother, Matthew, contracted AIDS through blood transfusions. They will travel from Washington State with their mother, Christina Justiniano, to D.C. on 15 and 16 March for experimental treatment at Childrens' Hospital. Both are fully mobile and do not require medical support systems. 3. The Office of Technical Service is prepared to meet both young men and their mother at CIA Headquarters. They have an unclassified recruiting film and several unclassified espionage tools they can show and discuss. The Historical Intelligence Curator also would like to participate, giving them a tour of the exhibit located in the New Headquarters Building lobby. 4. We request your concurrence and any assistance you might believe necessary to grant this request by Friday, 24 February. Please call , if you need more information. William M.
