Subject: Annual Wage Increases for GAD Under GA Wage Schedule
1. Called at BEP position classification to see what is

ng up the annual wage increses for GAD~Beproduction Techs: Die Sinker
and Picture Engraver categoriesxx~ which has an effective date of 1 NovembeE
and published circa ea~],y December.
2. Problem is with the unions which are asking for negoti~,ationt rights
prior to implementation of wage increases. Status of case: salary comparigtsnn
survey data has been received by BEP from American Banknote Corporation in
New York City; unions have obtained a lztwger to represent them and case was
submitted to Dept of Treasury who has bounced it back to BEP; BEP is about
ready to meet with union reprs to discuss demands and legal entitlements, if
3? said it would probably take at leas weeks before at~y
decision will be reached regarding the amount of pay adjustments, and he
will advise me as soon as any new developments. Informed
