SUGGESTED REVISION TO VII. d. (1)
(1) The United States Government will: (a) encourage the
development of commercial systems which image the Earth from
space, competitive with or superior to foreign-operated civil or
commercial systems; (b)~continue to encourage commercial earth
remote sensing an cont nu ty of data (c) plan
development of an additional advanced technology civil earth
remote sensing satellite based on a cooperative
Government-industry commercial venture, intended to be able to
operate eventually without further Federal subsidies, (d)
discuss remote sensing issues and activities with foreign
governments operating or' regulating the private operation of
remote sensing systems; and (d) (e) continue a research and
development effort for future advanced, remote sensing
taGhmelegies 19- technologies; if these technologies are
applied commercially, they will be without direct Federal
subsidy.
