The Radio-Newsreel-Television
Working Press Association will
present its annual Freedom of
Information award to Fred W.
Friendly, who resigned last
week as president of C.B.S.
News. The association said the
citation would note that Mr.
Friendly "for over 20 years has
dedicated his life and his work
to the belief that American
freedom and liberty depends on
an informed people."
The award will be presented
at. a dinner In the New York
Hilton Hotel on March 29. News
