Judge Webster:
The House Foreign Affairs Committee has
been talking for some weeks about requesting
you to testify on the Oversight Legislation.
They have now proposed an open session for
the morning of TUesday, 14 June. Peggy advises
that your schedule will permit this appearance.
I will work with her to set up a pre-brief
session, but I anticipate you will be using
basically the same testimony that we used for
previous sessions.
To divide the labor a bit, I have
tentatively arranged for Bob Gates to do the
House Intelligence Committee hearing on arms
control scheduled for next Wednesday, 8 June.
It would be difficult to juggle your calendAr
to permit you to do the arms control one but,
if you wish to take it on, we could try again
to resolve the scheduling problems.
I will assume that these scheduling
decisions are acceptable unless you advise
otherwise.
