Progress Reports on Tasks Assigned by or of Interest to Senior Management: None 2. Major Events that Have Occurred During the Preceding Week: a. Status of South Side Chilled Water Line Repairs: No report. b. Parking and Traffic Management: On 14 December, members of the Parking Branch, MSD/FMG/OL, and representatives from each of the components moving into the E Street complex met to discuss the parking situation there. Maps showing each component its allocation were distributed. Parking permits will be issued 25X1 shortly. New Headquarters Building (NEB):' (1) Wall Sound Transmission: There was a significant improvement in privacy after the insulation was blown in the walls of the three Office of Strategic Weapons Research (OSWR) offices. The insulation of the gasket material around the three doors is scheduled to be completed next week. Based on the expected results of gasketing the OSWR offices, FMG will also gasket all the doors in 25X1 the Inspector General's office. (2) NHB 13KV Rewiring: The conversion of the 13KV feeds for switchgear H1 through H2 to dual selective feeds has been completed. The work to date has been accomplished without interruption of service to Office of Information Technology (OIT). The balance of the feeds to Substations E, F, and G is scheduled to 25X1 be completed by 23 December. d. On 19 December, the Fairfax County Fire Department responded to a small fire on the roof. PCB Leak At FMG's request, the Safety Division, Office OF Medical Services (SD/OMS) contacted the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to determine if sufficient soil has been removed and if the remaining contamination can be encapsulated. SD/OMS has advised that encapsulation is not acceptable and that the Agency is required to get the contamination down to a level of 25 parts per million (ppm), a level of 10 ppm is preferred. On 16 December, SD/OMS provided FMG/OL with two proposals from local environmental engineering firms capable of completing clean-up of the site. The proposals are under review. However, in order to proceed on this project, additional funds in 25X1 the amount of $100,000 are needed. f. Motor Pool Fuel Tank Replacement: Allied has identified a contractor, Tri-County Industries, to provide excavation and replacement of underground fuel tanks adjacent to the Motor Pool. On 9 December, a formal contract and tentative construction schedule were submitted and approved. On 15 December, Contracts Branch, FMG/OL, negotiations with Contel to acquire technical services Headquarters Division, FMG/OL. Under the terms of the Contel will provide 25,932 hours of engineering and drafting for power, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) on the Headquarters compound. The Period of Performance .is from 1 November 1988 through 30 September 1989. The final negotiated 25X1 cost plus fixed fee amount is $883,468. completed in support of contract, support systems 1. On 19 December, Contracts Branch, FMG/OL, issued a Firm-Fixed price contract to TBN Associates, Incorporated, in the amount of $46,500 for Asbestos Removal in the E Street Building Complex in support of the External Buildings Division, FMG/OL.
